How to become a Real Estate Agent – Certificate of Registration

Starting in this field raises questions such as real estate agent and/or salesperson requirements. These include being a minimum of 18 years old, having completed the state/territory minimum educational requirements and successfully completing the required training in order to receive a real estate license. A required Real Estate Certificate of Registration Course is compiled of four units of competency, mandated for real estate in each state for entry into the profession, as well as both in and out of class assessments.

  • Real Estate License

    Following the registration certificate, you will need to gain a real estate license in order to start your profession in this exciting field. For example in NSW, gaining a real estate license enables you to buy, sell, exchange, let or lease real estate and conduct auction, as well as allowing you to work with parcels or property less than 20 hectares. In QLD, a license allows you to own or manage an agency, collect rent, inspect and assess property, and manage complexes independently. Each state has their own requirements and rules after completing the registration, be sure to check if you are eligible.

  • Property Certificate

    If you believe your career in this field is being a real estate salesperson, stock and station salesperson, or residential property manager, you must apply for property certificate of registration, enabling you to have the responsibilities that come with these roles.
