Life Coaching Courses

What is life coaching?

At its core, life coaching is about supporting people, which leads many to believe that it’s therapy. Yet, that isn’t necessarily true. While life coaches can help with mental health issues, their primary goal is to get their clients to where they need to be or support them during a major transition in life, mentoring and empowering them along the way.

Life coaching responsibilities

A life coach focuses mainly on goal setting and establishing plans to achieve those goals, usually centred around self-discovery and professional development. The potential topics that you might cover during your sessions include public speaking, wellness, mindfulness and coaching models. Other duties may involve:

  • Organising data on client progress
  • Working in small groups to develop life skills
  • Conversing with a specialist to ask for feedback on potential plans
  • Checking in with your client on a regular basis to maintain their motivation, either face-to-face or online
