This introductory Excel course equips you with the essential skills to manage, analyse, and manipulate data effectively for business and professional use.
Through a practical, hands-on approach, you will learn Excel fundamentals - from navigating the workspace and formatting data to using formulas, cleaning and validating datasets, and applying foundational techniques for data analysis and visualisation.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Navigate the Excel interface, customise settings and manage multiple worksheets efficiently
Learn best practices for inputting, editing and formatting data for clarity and readability
Adjust, insert, delete and freeze panes to keep data structured and accessible
Use formulas, including SUM, AVERAGE, IF, COUNT and LOOKUP functions to calculate and analyse data
Organise data alphabetically, numerically and by multiple criteria to extract insights easily
Create and customise bar, pie and line charts to communicate trends and patterns clearly
Apply validation rules and implement best practices for data integrity
Discover formatting shortcuts, templates and essential Excel functions to work smarter
This course is ideal for individuals with little to no experience in Excel and want to learn how to manage, analyse, and interpret datasets. It provides foundational knowledge in Excel, focusing on building formulas and using essential tools to effectively work with and visualise data

Eligibility
On Campus students require the following:
PC or Mac
A working version of Excel (2016 or later). If your version of Excel doesn’t have a feature, you can use the free web version of Excel Online
Access to a personal or workplace Microsoft account (an email address and password that you use with Outlook, Hotmail, Office, OneDrive, Skype, Xbox, and Windows)
Virtual Students will also require the following:
Computer or mobile device
An internet connection (broadband/4G+ recommended)
Speakers and a microphone
A webcam
