Eligibility
Entry Requirements
At Obelisk Training, we believe in opening doors — not closing them. This course is designed to be accessible to a wide range of learners, and there are no formal academic prerequisites required to enrol. What matters most is your commitment to learning and your readiness to engage with the program.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this course, you will need to:
Be 18 years of age or older at the time of enrolment
Have a reasonable command of spoken and written English
Have access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable digital device to complete online study
Demonstrate the language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills necessary to successfully engage with course content
Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital (LLND) Assessment
As part of your enrolment process, all prospective students are required to complete an LLND assessment. This is not an exam — it is simply a tool that helps us understand your current skill level so we can ensure you are set up for success from day one.
You must successfully pass this assessment before commencing the course. If your results indicate that some foundational skills need strengthening, our team will work with you to identify the right support or alternative pathways before you begin.
We want every student who starts this course to finish it — and the LLND assessment is one of the ways we make sure that happens.
Not Sure If You Qualify?
Don't let uncertainty hold you back. Reach out to one of our friendly course advisers who will walk you through the entry requirements, help you prepare for your LLND assessment, and make sure this is the right course for you before you commit to anything.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Have you already built skills and knowledge through work experience, life experience, or previous study? You may not need to start from scratch. At Obelisk Training, we offer a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway that acknowledges what you already know — and gives you formal credit for it.
What Is RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment process that evaluates the skills and knowledge you have gained outside of formal study. This includes experience from:
💼 Previous or current employment in IT, technology, or a related field
🛠️ Informal learning such as self-taught technical skills, personal projects, or freelance work
📚 Previous study or training that may not have resulted in a formal qualification
🌐 Volunteer work or community experience involving digital systems, technology, or administration
If your experience aligns with the competencies required in this course, you may be eligible to receive credit for one or more units — reducing the time and cost of completing your qualification.
How Does the RPL Process Work at Obelisk?
We've made our RPL process as straightforward and supportive as possible. Here's how it works:
Initial Conversation — Speak with one of our friendly course advisers who will ask you about your background, experience, and skills to determine whether RPL may be suitable for you
Evidence Gathering — You'll be guided through collecting evidence that demonstrates your competency against the relevant unit requirements. This may include work samples, references, certificates, or a professional portfolio
Assessment — Our qualified assessors will review your evidence and make a formal determination on which units you may be granted credit for
Enrolment & Commencement — Once your RPL is assessed, you'll enrol in the remaining units needed to complete your full qualification
Why Consider RPL?
Save Time — Skip units you've already mastered and complete your qualification faster
Save Money — Reduce the overall cost of your study by gaining credit for prior learning
Get Recognised — Receive formal, nationally accredited recognition for the skills you've worked hard to develop
Stay Focused — Concentrate your energy on the units and skills that will genuinely add value to your career
Is RPL Right for You?
RPL is not about taking shortcuts — it is about making sure your learning journey is as relevant and efficient as possible. If you have genuine experience and skills that align with this qualification, RPL ensures you are not paying for or repeating what you already know.
Not sure if your experience qualifies? That's completely okay. Reach out to our team today and we'll have an honest conversation about your background and whether RPL is the right pathway for you.
At Obelisk Training, we respect the experience you bring to the table — and we'll make sure it counts.
