Sometimes working in more common areas of Event Management or Event Planning can be quite competitive and maybe you’re wanting something more unique that has a higher demand for employment.

Are you wondering what sort of qualities you should possess as an event manager? Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in the event industry and are considering it for your next career? Well here are 5 types of Event Management that you might not have heard of:

1. Cultural Events

As an event manager for cultural events you will be able to work closely with clients, artists and presenters from a cultural group and also an events team to meet with specific targets and be responsible for all processes between stakeholders.

This unique event management career will allow you to focus on communication between all parties involved in a cultural special event which will often include any artists, presenters and other clients to work towards budgets, time frame and prepare a risk report and working within the community sector or public relations.

Although events that host religious and spirituality isn’t something as common as weddings and corporate events, it is, however, quite a sort-after area for clients who want to cater to a small or large group of people with similar religious or spiritual views.

Working as an Event Manager for this type of event would allow you to dive into an exciting area to assist with catering and budgeting, possible ticket prices and promote it to the right audience on behalf of the clients. These spiritual and religious events can include festivals, concerts or small or large functions.

6. What are some fast and effective ways to become qualified as an Event Manager?

Sometimes undertaking years of study for a bachelor’s degree can be too time consuming, expensive and might not meet with the timeframe that you’re wanting to finish your qualification in. If you’re looking at a fast and effective way to build up all the necessary skills to enter into the exciting and challenging events industry to become an Events Manager; then the best place to start is with an event management short course, taking just 24 weeks. You can complete the Event Management Certificate which is helpful if you wish to undertake further study such as a certificate III.

You can also enter into other areas such as project management, event operations or as an event coordinator as a similar role.
