Course overview
If you want to position yourself as a high-value employee in this care landscape, then enrolling in our dual qualifications is a great way to start. This dual certificate course can give you invaluable skills for helping patients with disabilities. The two courses will teach you how to provide individualised support to disabled persons, how to manage legal and ethical compliance and how to provide leisure and health programming for disability care. These two courses are combined allowing you to gain two Certificate IV qualifications by completing only a few extra units.

Duration study load

Delivery
The course is classroom-based giving students access to a trainer who guides and supports them through all aspects of the course. Classes run two days per week, with one day a week being held in a computer lab to assist and support students with course content researching, and general computer skills. Students are also able to gain individual help from their trainer if needed.
Work placement
Practical Placement: 240 hours
Practical Placement is part of the course and allows skills development in the workplace. Students have the chance to put their classroom knowledge into practice during Practical Placement by completing the allocated hours of practical placement in a regulated disability care facility. For learners who are working in the industry, working hours maybe used for practical placement with the approval of the employer.
Recognition of prior learning
