Course overview

Certificate IV in Ageing Support (CHC43015) reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

Delivery

Delivery structure is comprised of classroom training sessions, structured learning such as training support, learning activities, self-paced (to allow the learners to absorb and reflect on their learning), workshops and work placement.

Entry requirements

  • Applicants are required to be 17 years old and above
  • Undertake Pre-Training Review
  • Undertake LLN test: Learning, reading, writing, oral communication (ACSF Level 3) and numeracy (ACSF Level 2) are desirable to participate in the course
  • Police Check – Students undertaking this course are required to provide a current Police Check with no disclosures
  • This course is not offered to International students

Work placement

To achieve this qualification the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement as detailed in the assessment requirements of the units of competency. If a student is unable to find an appropriate work placement, Hammond Institute will assist in finding the work placements.
