Education

  • There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification as specified in the packaging rules

Minimum Age

  • Students under the age of 18 years require the signed consent of a parent or guardian to enrol in this qualification

Residency Status

  • You will need to be a permanent Australian resident or equivalent or have the right to study in Australia other than a Student Visa

Physical Capabilities

  • You’ll be required to complete workplace tasks that involve manual handling and may be required to have certain vaccinations or a medical exemption if requested.

Computer Requirements

In order to complete the online part of the course you will need regular access to the following:

  • Computer: Laptop or desktop computer with working speakers or headphone points
  • Internet: High-speed internet such as Broadband or ADSL, T1/T2, fibre optic (Dial-up access is not recommended)
  • Windows: Operating system – Windows 8 or above
  • Internet Browser: Google Chrome and Firefox are recommended browsers and have Javascript enabled
  • MAC: Operating system – OS X 10.14 Mojave or later
  • Software: Flash, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word (or Open Office which is free to download)

External Requirements

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid must be completed with an external provider.

Work Placement

  • Students may need to undertake a Working with Children check to meet individual work placement employer requirements

Work placement

You’ll be required to perform practical tasks under the direction of a qualified workplace supervisor and must have access to a sports or community recreation facility or gym to complete practical tasks in the workplace. The workplace supervisor must meet the following industry experience criteria:

  • Must demonstrate a minimum 12 months of full-time experience in the Sports and Recreation industry with demonstrated competency to observe and supervise practical tasks in the workplace
  • Must have equivalent work experience and competence
  • Must hold a Working with Children Check if the student is under 18 years old
  • Must hold a minimum Certificate III in Sport and Recreation/ Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation qualification or higher

You’ll be responsible for sourcing an appropriate work placement host employer/s. AIPT may provide support and guidance to identify work placement opportunities.

Recognition of prior learning

  • We offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as an option for those who have gained relevant skills and knowledge through prior experience or training. If you believe you may be eligible, please contact our Career Advisor to discuss the RPL process and how it can be applied to your studies.

Subjects

This course contains the unit HLTAID011 Provide first aid, which must be completed through an external RTO. Foundation Education has an agreement with Red Cross Australia (RTOID 3605), which allows students to receive training for this unit at a reduced price.

The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers offers affordable payment options to help you start your studies sooner.

  • Payment Plans* available (affordable weekly/fortnightly instalments)
  • Upfront Payment (possible discounts for eligible candidates)

Tuition fees include course delivery and assessment, online study material and dedicated student support services.

*Payment plan total is $100 deposit + 78 weekly payments. The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers uses the direct debiting services of Debitsuccess on payment plans. Payment plans will incur a $12 establishment fee, charged with the first instalment, plus a 3.63% transaction fee on each transaction. Weekly payment amount provided is already inclusive of the transaction fee.
