Entry requirements
As a guide, entrants to this program may:
- Have completed year 10, or equivalent
- A qualification at Certificate II level or higher, or in an associated information technology field; OR
- 2 years of relevant industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication
You’ll also need to be at least 18 years at the time of applying for admission.
You’ll complete an interview process with a designated Upskilled representative to ascertain suitability to the program and to review your current skills and experience, as this may allow you to move through the course more quickly.
To ensure that you’re able to seamlessly access our online learning platform and video content, you’ll need access to a modern computer with high-speed internet. You’ll also need to possess basic computing skills, and may be required to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy skills assessment before enrolment can be confirmed.

- Students enrolled in the ICT30120 – Certificate III in Information Technology will be automatically enrolled into the VMware short course once they commence the Upskilled unit: “ICTICT302 Install and optimise operating system software”. Once enrolled students have access for 3 months to complete the modules

Recognition of prior learning
- You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT) provided that you have supporting evidence of any prior education and work experience. This can either reduce your study load or shorten the duration of your course. After enrolment, you’ll need to contact Student Support so they can arrange a dedicated trainer to assess your eligibility for either RPL or CT
Assessment
- This course contains research-based assessments. In these you will be answering questions that require your own thoughts and input from the concepts covered. You’ll also work on scenario-based projects and have the opportunity to build your own portfolio containing digital assets (photography, audio, video, text), which can be used when applying for jobs
